Climate Change

Climate change refers to significant and long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other components of the Earth’s climate system. It encompasses changes that occur both locally and globally, often resulting from natural processes but increasingly driven by human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial practices that increase concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat and lead to global warming, causing rising sea levels, more frequent and severe weather events, shifts in habitats and ecosystems, and various impacts on human health, agriculture, and economies. Climate change is a pressing global challenge, prompting international efforts for mitigation, adaptation, and sustainable practices to reduce its effects.
